Collections Magazine: Summer 2026

July 8, 2026

Summit Sotheby's International Realty just released the 34th issue of Collections Magazine, and this edition is all about summer in Utah — discovering and exploring the beautiful, unique activities and landscapes found throughout Park City, Salt Lake City, and Southern Utah. This edition is built around real itineraries, the kind of day-by-day plans we'd actually hand a friend visiting for the summer.

I went straight to the Park City & Wasatch Back section first, and it's a good reminder of how much changes around here once the snow melts. The suggested day starts with sunrise paddleboarding on Jordanelle Reservoir, moves into lift-served mountain biking at Deer Valley, and works its way through fly fishing on the Provo River and a full-moon lift ride and dinner at Sundance. It's a pretty accurate snapshot of what a good July day looks like from where I sit — just swap in whichever combination fits your pace. Beautiful properties are featured throughout this section, from the new construction at Deer Valley East Village to ski-in ski-out masterpieces in White Pine Canyon to legacy estates in the Heber Valley.

The Oakley Rodeo gets a nice callout — it's been running for more than 90 years, and Summit Sotheby's has been proud to sponsor it for a while now. It's something my family looks forward to every year, and it's the kind of event that reminds you Park City is still very much a Western mountain town underneath the resort towns and real estate headlines. The Midway Farmers Market is in there too, which is an easy one to underrate if you haven't been. With Swiss-inspired architecture and a slower pace than Main Street, it's a great excuse to spend an afternoon in Heber Valley. And if you're around in the fall, the Alpine Loop write-up is a good nudge to actually drive it during peak color instead of just meaning to.

A lot of buyers first come to Park City thinking of it purely as a ski town, but summer quickly becomes their second favorite (or maybe even tied for favorite) season. Some would argue it's even better than winter, and it's a big part of why so many of my clients end up owning something here to use across three seasons instead of one.

Beyond Park City, this issue also covers Salt Lake and the Wasatch Front, road trips through Moab and Southern Utah, and Utah's Mighty Five national parks — worth a flip-through even if you're strictly a mountain person.

Read more about why people come to love Park City in the summer almost as much as they do the winter.
